The apartments are located right inside the prime tourist attraction in Litomyšl, the wonderful renaissance chateau. Aside from guided tours you can also visit the chateau cellars with their permanent exhibition of the statues of Olbram Zoubek and the famous sculpture by Lukáš Gavlovský and Roman Švejda A Heart for Václav Havel, made from the wax of candles lit to mark the passing of the first Czech president.
The chateau also contains the municipal gallery’s remarkable collection of portraits of famous Czech authors of the 19th and 20th centuries and the site offer the chance to get involved in a professionally run children’s programme. Every year in June and at the beginning of July the chateau hosts the National festival Smetana's Litomyšl, the oldest and largest open air festival of classical music in the Czech Republic.
Litomyšl itself is a picturesque town with a rich cultural tradition, known also for the quality of its contemporary architecture and its exceptionally full cultural and social programme. There are also a range of sports facilities, an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool with toboggan, tennis hall, squash, bowling, football-golf, billiard hall, cycle track and equestrian centre.
